Ralph Lauren onlineshop webeditor report:
Lakers coach Phil Jackson - and assistant Brian - Shaw view, 27, from Beijing's opening game with the Rockets started the Lakers Gasol leaders will take over the burden, but it seems the Lakers coaching staff, Gasol may be in the position of leader to stay at least a month, as Brian - Shaw said: "The team is very bad state of the game now, we need to stand up Paul to help the team."
During the preseason, and Pau Gasol were present in 29.6 minutes of playing time, you can cut down 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 times of the blocks, in addition to Odom rebounds as the second highest, the all the rest of the team first, but in the Jackson opinion, after the start when the regular season, Gasol should do more.
When Jackson missed the Lakers the flu the last two preseason games, the Brian - Shaw agents of the post of coach, after two games, the agents coach to have been spared kind words for Gasol, a reporter asked him , how to treat Jackson said Gasol, the team hopes to contribute more words, Brian - Shaw said, "I certainly hope he can for the team more offensive he did not, I know Picasso the power of inside Seoul, compared with I want to see him on the defensive end's performance, especially in defensive rebounding. "
Why is this such a great season, Gasol take expectations? As we all know, Kobe Bryant in the left knee since surgery, the field has been less than ideal performance, the Jackson Jackson even announced it would cut his playing time, to help him recover more quickly; the main center Andrew Bynum has knee surgery this summer, has also accepted, but he think back to the court, the earliest until the end of 11; Odom performed well despite the preseason, but before the last preseason game, he sprained his left thumb, also broke the nose opponents, while the back of the old recurrence of injury is also suspected; backup center Theo - Ratliff has missed the swelling in his left knee last preseason game; - Luke Walton because of right leg muscle injury is still not fully training and competition; it all for the Lakers cast a shadow over prospects for the season, while Gasol had to assume the burden of leadership. .
"They (Jackson and Brian - Shaw) has been very determined," Gasol said, "In my career, have encountered many challenges, I can better deal with them, and now I can once again complete Coach gave me the task. "
Although played in the preseason performance is quite good, but Gasol believes he can do better in the regular season, "I know I need to get better, I already can not wait for the opening game of the match, I will play more aggressive, whether it is on the offensive end or defensive end. "
Of course, this negative burden Pau Gasol will not last the entire season, according to Lakers coach Brian agent - Xiao said Bryant's recovery is well underway, "He (Bryant) are now slowly learn to relax, because that will let him recover faster, too want to play well, but the body is too tight, not conducive to his injury, although the injury did not recover as fast as he imagined, but it is still within our control, Bryant is a better every day.
